Welcome

PCDE is delighted to invite you to the 15th PCDE International Conference taking place Friday 13 and Saturday 14 April 2018 in Barcelona. The theme of the conference is "The role of primary care in the world of diabetes". This unique (biennial) meeting is organized by primary care professionals for clinicians and scientists working in the primary care field.

The current, rapid developments in contemporary diabetes care are making ongoing professional development a necessity. Medical care for people living with diabetes is becoming more personalized and increasingly complex.

Today, a pro-active multidisciplinary team approach is desirable for the optimal care of people with chronic conditions such as diabetes. Patiend education and shared decision making are crucial for adherence; a constant challenge for professionals working in primary care.

The scope of the meeting comprises a broad range of topics about various aspects of curing and caring for people living with diabetes. They are relevant to all primary health care professionals and will provide an opportunity to share and discuss the latest state-of-the-art knowledge in the field.

The scientific program will feature keynote lectures and state-of-the-art sessions from international experts.

Conference participants will have the opportunity to present and share their experience and research results during interactive poster sessions while the top five selected posters will also be presented during a plenary session.

In a special “rising star session” a junior researcher in the field of primary care for diabetes will be given the opportunity to present his/her research, while the "8th Paul Cromme lecture” will recognise an eminent European figure or organisation, active in primary care and diabetes.

We look forward to welcoming you to Barcelona.
