IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT - 16th International PCDE Conference 16-18 April 2020, Barcelona

March 10th , 2020

Dear colleagues and partners,

PCDE organises its international scientific conference every other year in Barcelona. This year the 16th international conference was planned for 16-18 April.

It is with great regret that the PCDE executive board has decided to postpone this meeting due to the critical Corona virus epidemic situation. Primary care, as first contact to healthcare, is in the frontline and several countries have conducted travel restrictions and measures for health care practitioners.

The new dates for this conference are 19, 20 and 21 November 2020. The venue remains the same; the Barcelo Sants Hotel in Barcelona

PCDE would like to take this opportunity to inform you that the date for abstracts submission will be extended. The new deadline will be announced on our website.

We appreciate your commitment with PCDE and your contribution to the conference and we hope to welcome you to Barcelona later this year.

Warm regards,

PCDE Executive Board members,

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Xavier Cos
Prof. Dr. Pinar Topsever
Dr. Philippe Domeyer
Dr. Samuel Seidu
Dr. Gerardo Medea

We are delighted to invite you to the 16th International Primary Care Diabetes Europe (PCDE) Conference which will be held in Barcelona from 19 to 21 of November 2020.

The theme of this conference is “The new challenges of primary care in diabetes management”.

Topics for these two days are published in the preliminary scientific programme.

Because the condition is prevalent and chronic, primary care professionals are inevitably involved in the care for people with Type 2 Diabetes. This brings along the need for CPD in the field of diabetes care for these health care professionals.

PCDE can be your guide and coach. As a leading pan-European platform we see our role in expanding educational activities as increasingly important now that primary care is expected to take increasing responsibility in the global burden of (type 2) diabetes from a multidisciplinary approach.

Due to growing interest we can offer you instructive, state-of-the-art lectures by leading authorities in diabetes. You are invited to present your own research outcomes in the poster presentations and discuss the results with your peers during the Poster Walk on Friday and Saturday.

As a primary health care professional involved in the management of people living with diabetes, this conference is an educational programme not to be missed…

Register here or visit the website and stay informed about last updates on this exciting conference!

Warm regards on behalf of the organising and scientific committees,

Xavier Cos
Chairman (PCDE)
