CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

New Abstract Deadline

Due to PCDE Conference postponement (new dates: 19, 20 and 21 November 2020), PCDE has decided to extend the date for abstracts submission. NEW DEADLINE for abstract submission is OCTOBER 1st, 2020. Abstract submission system will be automatically closed after this date.

The organising and scientific committees cordially invite all Primary Care professionals working in the field of diabetes care to submit abstracts for poster presentations.

Authors are kindly requested to submit abstracts on this website only. Listed below are the instructions for abstract submission. Abstract submitted by fax or e-mail will not be accepted.

Instructions for Abstracts Authors who submitted their abstracts before 2nd March

In case you sent your abstract before the initial deadline (2nd March 2020), your abstract is well received and will be saved on our servers for assessment. You don’t need to send it in again. In case you want to withdraw your abstract due to the conference postponement, please send an email to congresos@semfyc.es asking to withdraw your abstract from PCDE conference.

The Abstract Jury will start reviewing all remaining abstracts during the first days of October, and confirmation of acceptance or rejection by the scientific committee will be published on the conference website on OCTOBER 15th, 2020.

Lastly, the Jury will decide on the 5 best abstracts which will be presented orally in session 2 of the conference, and detailed practical information regarding the presentation (oral or poster) will be published on the conference website on OCTOBER 22nd, 2020.

We appreciate your commitment with PCDE and your contribution to the conference.

General policy and procedure

  • All abstracts need to be submitted and presented in English.

  • Please pay attention to correct spelling, as there will be no subsequent proof-reading/corrections. The abstracts will be published exactly as submitted.

  • Do not enter references.

  • Avoid the use of symbols.

  • Maximum length: 2000 characters (incl. spaces) or 300 words. Title: maximum 200 character (incl. spaces).

  • The abstract is meant to obviously contribute to advance knowledge in the field of Diabetes in Primary Health Care, briefly stating: Standard abbreviations are accepted in the text. Unusual ones must be mentioned in brackets when used for the first time.

    • Aim(s) or purpose: indicate purpose of the study or hypothesis tested.
    • Design & method: include study setting, subjects (number and type), diagnosis or intervention and statistical analysis.
    • Results: present as clearly as possible study outcomes and statistical significance besides clinical relevance.
    • Conclusions: briefly discuss data and emphasize significance.

  • The maximum number of authors is 6.

  • Do not enter names of authors or affiliations in the abstract template, as your abstract needs to remain unidentifiable to the reviewers. As you will need to enter this information elsewhere on line, the system will make the correct link between your name and abstract.

  • The first author of each abstract will be considered the presenting and corresponding author. The presenting author is requested to provide her/his full address (including e-mail address).

  • Each author is allowed to be the first author in maximum two abstracts. There is no limit to be co-authors in other abstracts.

  • Posters will be displayed as e-posters on screens.

  • Preference will be given to submissions which have not been previously presented or published.

  • Authors whose abstracts are accepted for presentation must register for the conference and pay the registration fee.  Presenting authors of accepted abstracts (1 author per abstract) will be eligible for Early Bird registration fee.
